Dear Student,
AME-Aircraft Maintenance Engineering-Welcome to Star Aviation Academy!
In every person’s life a time comes when you feel the need to return to the society what you have gained over years from your experience. This tradition has ensured the monumental amount of scientific knowledge of our ancestors being preserved even today. I too felt that need and, in my small way, decided to distribute what I had gained over decades of working on modern aircraft and at senior management positions in various airlines. In my own small way, it is my endeavour to contribute to Nation Building by Building Careers of the young students.
This was discussed with the senior professionals in aviation field and they all supported the idea. Decision to set up Star Aviation was taken and Star Aviation Academy, the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering school was set up in 2006. It was approved by DGCA and we started our eventful journey. I left my job as Head of Engineering(Delhi Region) of Air Deccan to devote my time to the training of students. Ever since, we are trying to impart Aircraft Maintenance Engineering skills and to train the students to become qualified and efficient Aircraft Maintenance Engineers. It is a matter of pride that in this short span of about twelve years, our students are employed in almost all major airlines and also some foreign airlines. Many of them have achieved prominent positions.
Aircraft Maintenance Engineering involves hands on technical skills and technical knowledge achieved through hard work with a positive attitude. I have been blessed with these attributes in abundance. I have certified many modern aircraft like Airbus 330, Airbus 340 and the business aircraft. In my career spanning over three decades I have certified eleven different types of Aircraft i.e. HS-748, BEECHCRAFT B-200, B-200C, BOEING 727-200, BOEING 767-300ER, CRJ 200, AIRBUS A320, A330, A340 in addition to frontline fighter aircraft MIG 21 (BIS). I had the privilege of repairing many other types of aircraft such as DC-3, Learjet 24, Learjet 24D, HS-125-3A, Beech Baron 55, Beech Baron 58 etc.
Aviation demands high quality work. In the digital technology regime today, a properly trained person can accomplish the given task at a fraction of cost and also ensure safety and reliability. Aircraft Maintenance directly affects safety of travelling public. Therefore, quality of training is of utmost importance. We make conscientious efforts to impart quality training to our students. As a result of that our students have consistently achieved top positions in DGCA examinations and best results. This has translated into excellent placements of our students.
We are now trying to take the teaching to even higher level using digital techniques and modern technology. At SAA, teaching is technology driven. Great emphasis is accorded to practical training and assimilation of theoretical learning. A lot of emphasis is put on positive attitude towards work and life. We place lot of emphasis on correct work culture and ethical conduct. Proper work culture and theical working is essential for development. Development is a continuous process. For progress in life, Change is the only constant. We endeavour each day to do better than the previous day.
At SAA training conforms to International standards. Students are sent to Air India or GMR for hands on practical training on Airbus 320 aircraft and modern turbo prop aircraft. We also recommend them various airlines for employment after they pass out from Academy. We shall work hard towards the goal of each of our students qualifying for AME licence and being able to have a decent career. Development and career progression of our students is main focus. Each student qualifying to gain AME licence is our target. Students are encouraged to apply to airlines and other operators for employment.
As per the recently released statistics Indian domestic passenger traffic has grown at high rate in recent years. Indian economy has bounced back. We are fifth largest economy and third largest aviation market in the word. With Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) aviation is penetrating into everyday life of our people. New airlines/operators are coming into operation. Indi based airlines have place large aircraft orders. There is huge demand for small aircraft operations on feeder routes and consequently huge demand for appropriately trained technical staff.
There is acute shortage of trained Aircraft Maintenance Engineers world wide. There is great demand for Indian AME’s in Gulf countries. Indian technical manpower has proved its mettle in international aviation which has lead to greater international demand Indian AME’s. Indian AME licence is accepted in all countries which are signatory International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Chicago Convention. Students of today are going to be harbingers of growth and future of Aviation.
AME is an excellent career. It gives you all that one normally wishes for such as work satisfaction, glamour, social status, dignity, a decent lifestyle and abundance of money. You need to have correct attitude, discipline and work hard.
I am indebted to all my teachers and mentors who have shaped my life and have given me so much to value in life. I am also indebted to my family who have supported me in this endeavour.
Welcome you to Star Aviation Academy. Welcome on board.
Our Motto “BUILDING NATION THROUGH BUILDING CAREERS”
